Why Portraits of Our Loved Ones are So Important

Updated: Dec 20, 2023

Let me start by asking you a question. If you had to escape a fire in your home, what's the first thing you would grab (besides your children and pets, of course) on the way out?

I think most of us might say our phone and our computer, but I'm pretty sure we would also say our photographs. Why?

It's your memories.

It's captured moments and details of everyone who matters to you. It's a way to freeze those moments and hold onto them for the rest of your life. A way to keep those memories alive and pass them on for years to come.

Every day is a gift.

We don't know how many more we will have with our loved ones. Having portraits of our children is a way to freeze them in time and helps us to remember all of the precious details about them. but they also do so much to build their self esteem and make them feel important and loved. They are heirlooms to be passed on for years to come. They will appreciate them later, and their families will love having them as well.

Just as we need photographs of our children, they need photographs of us.

Which is why if there is ever a question of whether or not you need to be in photos with your children, the answer is always YES! No matter what. No matter how you feel. No matter how you think you look. Portraits of your children help build their self esteem, but pictures that include you gives them a sense of belonging and shows them you cherish being with them. It would mean so much to them to be able to look back on them later.

Our children are precious pieces of art.

They need to be captured beautifully and displayed on our walls. Our families, our relationships and connections with each other, are so important to document as well. Invest in what matters most. Capture your loved ones.
