Hopefully since you're reading this, you've decided to schedule a maternity photo shoot to document this beautiful time in your life. I totally get that there will be times in your pregnancy that you won't feel so beautiful - but trust me, you are. Swelling, bloating, belly and all. And what a gift it will be for you to look back on and for your child to see images of you with him/her in your belly.
The best time to schedule your maternity photo shoot is usually around the 7th or 8th month, 29-36 weeks - and here's why.
At 29-36 weeks, you have a perfect baby bump.
Around this time you should have a decent sized belly, and it needs to take the spotlight. After all, the baby bump is really the star of the show.
You're still somewhat comfortable at 7 or 8 months.
While you want to wait until you have a good size baby bump, you also want to be able to be a a stage when you're still comfortable. While you can wait til later than 36 weeks, you might be cutting it close and you might not be feeling so great. it would be much more enjoyable when you can move around and pose easier.
What if you can't schedule your maternity photo shoot at 29-36 weeks?
Not everyone is able to schedule their session during this time frame. You might know that you will be delivering early for some reason or are expecting twins or triplets. 29-36 weeks is the general suggestion, but the best time for you might be different. The most important thing is that you do document this time. Though your pregnancy might seem like it's taking forever, it will be gone in a flash and you can't get it back.
